Seeking additional leadership opportunities, Andrew was appointed as the District One Master Councilor of the New Jersey DeMolay State Council in June 2007. He was recognized as the Appointed State Officer of the Year in June 2008 for his efforts. That began five years of service to the New Jersey DeMolay State Council that culminated with his election and installation to the office of the 62nd State Master Councilor of the New Jersey DeMolay State Council in June 2011.
Andrew has obtained numerous DeMolay Awards and Honors over his career, including the Blue Honor Key, Representative DeMolay Award, Lamp of Knowledge, and the Degree of Chevalier. He was recognized by the New Jersey Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons in 2010 as its “DeMolay of the Year.” He is most proud of the distinction of being named an Honorary Member of Skylands Chapter, Order of DeMolay. He received this honor from Skylands Chapter for his work with that chapter during his tenure as a Jurisdictional Officer in New Jersey.
Like many brothers within DeMolay, Andrew considers joining DeMolay as the greatest decision of his life. In his own words, “DeMolay teaches leadership and organizational skills that will prepare any individual to tackle any challenge within their own lives. The lessons taught within DeMolay have given me a path to emulate. I hope that I can work to encourage my brothers to be of good moral character and to help them succeed as the leaders the world so desperately needs. Leadership is not an option, it is a necessity, and no DeMolay shall ever fail as a man or a leader.”
Andrew is looking forward to serving as International Master Councilor during this year and he encourages all DeMolays to contact him should they need any help and assistance. He believes that the true strength of DeMolay lies within the brotherhood that we share and through unity we shall achieve greatness.
